Week 2 - 6/27 - 7/3

A big THANK YOU to all of the athletes, parents, siblings and friends who came out to Sunriver for the Pacific Crest Triathlon Fundraiser today!  Your time and effort were greatly appreciated and helped raise a lot for our team this season.  Not only did this help raise team funds but it was a great opportunity for our program to give back to the community and for each of you to represent our program well.  Thank you for taking care of these athletes and doing your best to encourage and support them during the race!

Practice Schedule

This week we will be on the same practice schedule as last week:

Monday – Meet at Drake Park at 8:30 am – Run Overturf Butte (1 or 2 laps / 3.5 or 5 miles)

Tuesday – Meet at Mountain View Track at 6:30 pm – Long Hospital Dagger Extension/Shepard Loop (3 or 4 miles)

Wednesday – Meet at Drake Park at 8:30 am – Farewell Bend w/River Canyon Footbridge extension (4 or 6.5 miles)

Thursday – Meet at Mountain View Track at 6:30 pm – Long Hospital/Daggett Extension (2 or 3 miles)

Friday – Meet at Drake Park at 8:30 am – Drake to Juniper (3 miles)

Saturday/Sunday – Rest Days

Please keep in mind that running on your own or attending team practices will help reduce the possibility of an injury and improve your performance throughout the season. 

Pine Nursery Sunset Run

As many of you are aware, there is a community 5k/10k being held in conjunction with the Mountain View XC Runoff on the evening of September 2nd that John Swenson (team parent) is organizing as a fundraiser for our program.  If you are a parent that is interested in participating, online registration is now available here: https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=124753.  You can also share the event on your Facebook Page (see https://www.facebook.com/events/253952191632003/permalink/258148597879029/)  John mentioned he could also use some help with race organization.  If you are interested in helping please email him at johnswen@ymail.com.

Cultus Signups are Available

Our annual team summer camp is scheduled for August 3rd-6th.  We have setup online payments through touchbase so you can signup now.  A waiver was provided in the weekly team email that you can print and turn in at any of the upcoming meetings or team practices.  Our goal is to have every athlete on the team attend Cultus Camp.  If cost is an issue let me know and we can find a way for athletes to earn a portion or all of their entry fee.
