Great racing today at the IMC District Championships! Even though we
didn't reach our goal of competing at state as a team, we are still
proud of your performances today and throughout the season. We've had a
lot of fun and success throughout the year and look forward to setting
new goals with you next season.
Congratulations to Inteus and Kelsey on their individual qualifications! Any varsity athletes or those planning to attend the Boise race are encouraged to come train with Inteus and Kelsey next week. We will be meeting at the XC tree at 3:00 (not 3:15) all next week (except for Monday due to our team meeting - see below). We hope to see some of you cheering them on at State next Saturday.
On
Monday we will have an important team meeting for all freshmen,
sophomore and junior runners with the goal of running varsity at some
point during their high school career. We will be sharing about an exciting new program to encourage maintaining running fitness throughout the year. We will meet in Bohnlein's classroom (E9) at 3 pm.
Here are a few announcements:
Saturday Trail Run (tomorrow 10/28)
We will be meeting tomorrow at 2pm at Drake Park and carpooling to Phil's Trailhead for a trail run.
This is specifically for Inteus and Kelsey but any District racers are
welcome to join! We should be back to Drake Park by 3:30.
Uniform Returns
Uniform turn-ins will be Monday (10/31) in Bohnlein's classroom (E9) from 2:45 - 3:00 (prior to our team meeting).
Please wash your uniform before returning. Students who do not return
their old and new uniform will be fined for each item not turned in.
End of Season Banquet
Our
end of season banquet has been re-scheduled for Monday, November 7th at
6pm in Aspen Hall at Shevlin Park to accommodate a number of athletes
attending the Nike Regional Meet in Boise, Idaho. This is not a
team-sponsored event, but our team captains are organizing a group and
all team members are welcome to attend. Talk to a captain for more
information.
Expect the team banquet to last till about 9pm. We will have food
catered from Tate and Tate with both a meat and vegetarian option. The
team will cover the cost of all team athletes – athletes must RSVP for
the team to pre-order and cover their meal cost. We will check with
athletes at practice to confirm attendance – please email me if you
won’t be at practice. Family members may attend for free, but if you
wish to eat, meals are $11/person and must be paid in advance on
Touchbase which is currently setup for payment. The deadline to

Another great day of racing yesterday Cougs!
Both our boys and girls had some excellent performances despite less than ideal conditions, pushing our boys ahead of Bend High in hypothetical results by 2 points and bringing our girls within 1 point. We are in for an exciting District race! Results from the George Fox XC Classic are available at: http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Results/Meet.aspx?Meet=114563#/263
Here are this week's announcements:
Central Oregon Relays
Mountain View is hosting its third race of the season on Wednesday, October 19th at Pine Nursery Park. For those of you unfamiliar with this race it is a relay format race in which you can choose your own team (either male, female, or coed). We will finalize teams at practice on Tuesday. All teams start the race at 3pm. Costumes are encouraged.

Students who do not return their old and new uniform will be fined for each item not turned in.
End of Season Banquet
Our end of season banquet is scheduled for Friday, November 11th at 6pm in Aspen Hall at Shevlin Park (However, we are considering a change in date, due to a number of athletes that are interested in attending the Nike Cross Regionals in Boise on Saturday, November 12th. Some of our team captains are trying to organize this, however, it is not a team event and there will be no coaches present - we are looking at a revised date for the banquet of Monday, November 7th to accommodate their attendance, but are still confirming if this change is possible). All athletes and family members are encouraged to come and celebrate the end of our season! The event does tend to be fairly long because we feel it is important to recognize every athlete - expect it to last till about 9pm. We will have food catered from Tate and Tate with both a meat and vegetarian option. The team will cover the cost of all team athletes - please let us know if you are not attending so that we don't order you a meal. End of Season Banquet
Our end of season banquet is scheduled for Friday, November 11th at 6pm in Aspen Hall at Shevlin Park. Family members may attend for free, but if you wish to eat meals are $11/person and must be paid in advance on Touchbase which is currently setup for payment: https://touchbase.bend.k12.or.us/
