Great effort at practice these last few days. We are excited to see you all perform at our first race in just 2 weeks!
Our end of season banquet has been scheduled for Sunday, November 8th at 5:30 pm at the St. Charles Conference Center. Please add this to your calendar! For those of you not familiar with the end of season banquet, this is our opportunity to celebrate the season and recognize all of your accomplishments as individuals and as a team.
This is our practice schedule for the week (All practices at 5:30 pm (EXCEPT FRIDAY AT 9AM - Next week we will move to 3pm):
Monday 8/31 - Meet at Mountain View track main entrance (AKA Cross Country Tree) for an endurance run and strength workout.
Tuesday 9/1 - Meet at RiverBend Park for hill repeats at Overturf Butte
Wednesday 9/2 - Meet at RiverBend Park for good form running clinic instructed by Max King courtesy of Footzone.
Thursday 9/3 - Meet at Drake Park for mile repeats
Friday 9/4 - Meet at Shevlin Park for a trail run at 9:00 AM - Captains will lead practice
Saturday 9/5 - 2015 XC Challenge - We are encouraging broad participation in this event but also want to warn athletes that this will be a strenuous activity and while the total minimum distance from the start location to end location is about 8 miles, there is the possibility that your team could cover a greater distance depending on your navigation skills. Think of this event as a repeat of our run up Cultus Mountain. If you were able to run up Cultus Mountain you are more than capable of participating in this event. We will also be able to access runners by vehicle in the case of an emergency.
We will meet in the Mountain View Bus Loop at 7:30 am to carpool to the start location of the XC Challenge. We will be travelling on dirt forest service roads to access the start so we will need drivers with high ground clearance vehicles (No convertible VW Rabbits). Once drivers reach the destination we will shuttle them back to the start to pickup their vehicles so that they can return for their passengers and transport them back to Mountain View. The ending time of this event is difficult to predict but we should have all athletes back to Mountain View by 1 pm at the latest - hopefully earlier.
For this event please dress for hot, sunny weather. You should wear a hat, sunblock, sunglasses and run with a water bottle. No phones or other electronic devices will be allowed. An adult will be present with each group to assist with emergencies.
Sunday 9/6 - Rest (You will need it after the XC Challenge!)
